NOTE: Public Transportation OV - chipcard

From Thursday, 11th of February 2010, you can only use an OV- chip card (OV stands for Public Transportation) at the Public Transportation in Rotterdam and surroundings. It is not possible to travel with a stamp card!

You can use the OV-chip card in the Rotterdam tram, metro, bus and it is very easy to use this chip card. When you go in the metro, you always have to check in, and when you get out of the metro you need to check out!

This is very important, so don’t forget when you travel by Public Transportation first buy a rechargeable OV Chip card.
